Account selection

Enhancement

The account picker now keeps its side of the bargain. The numbers on screen belong to the accounts you actually picked, that choice survives Demo Mode and a return visit, and the whole control can be driven from the keyboard.

Fixes

  • Your account selection always shows the right account's numbers
  • Demo Mode no longer wipes the accounts you picked
  • Select All correctly turns on All Active
  • The account name in the navbar matches your dashboard
  • Demo Mode stays in sync across open tabs
  • Private Mode hides account P&L in the dropdown
  • Long account names no longer overflow the navbar
  • Largest Loss no longer shows a positive number

Improvements and additions

  • The account picker works fully with a keyboard and with screen readers
  • All Active picks up any new account automatically
  • Your selection is reliably remembered when you come back
  • The account list scrolls once you have a lot of accounts
  • A clear message when you have no active accounts

Removals and adjustments

  • Unchecking every account now shows an empty dashboard

What the account selection decides

The account selection in Alltra is the Trading accounts control in the navbar, and it decides which trading accounts the figures in Alltra Tracker are computed over. It does not narrow the Economic Calendar in Alltra Resources, which is the same for everyone, or the money in Alltra Portfolio, which is computed over the platforms you registered rather than over trading accounts. The Account scope and groups guide article lists what the picker leaves unchanged.

The Alltra Tracker account selection has three states: All, Some and None. Ticking every account, or pressing the tick-square button on the Manage Accounts row, is stored as All — “do not narrow” — resolved against the accounts you own whenever a page renders, so an account linked later is included without you having to tick it. None is a choice of its own: untick everything and the Tracker dashboards read empty until you tick an account or link a new one.

Why your selection survives a return visit and Demo Mode

The account selection is a stored preference rather than part of the page address, so a scope you set weeks ago still applies the next time you open Alltra Tracker. It is kept in your browser and on your Alltra account, tagged with whose it is, so on a shared machine another trader’s selection is discarded. The troubleshooting article My data has disappeared explains how this control and the date range scope a page that reads emptier than expected.

Demo Mode and the account selection are stored separately in Alltra. The Demo Mode switch on the Account Overview card in the Trading accounts drawer fills the dashboards with sample trading, but the drawer keeps listing your real accounts, so turning Demo Mode on and off leaves your ticks where they were. The Demo Mode article in the Alltra Guide explains the DEMO badge that marks sample figures.

Using the picker from the keyboard

Each account in the Trading accounts drawer, the picker that scopes Alltra Tracker, is a real checkbox in the tab order, so you can reach each row with Tab and tick or untick it with the space bar. Each checkbox’s label carries the account’s name, and the select-all button is announced as Select all or Deselect all, so a screen reader says what a control changes.

Everything is ready for you.All that’s left… is to begin.
