Alltra Resources

The Economic Calendar — the releases that move your sessions, filtered down to the ones you trade.

Resources is the Economic Calendar: the scheduled releases that move futures and FX, on the days they land. It is the one surface in Alltra that is not about your own trading — it is about what the market is going to be told this week.

The account picker does not change this page. The Tracker and Portfolio read whichever accounts you have ticked; a scheduled release belongs to nobody, so the calendar is the same for everyone and only the date range applies.

What is on it

Every scheduled release in the window, with its time, the country and currency it belongs to, and how hard it is expected to hit. High-impact releases are marked, because those are the ones worth arranging a session around.

Narrowing it down

The unfiltered calendar is a wall. Four filters cut it to the part that concerns you, and they stack:

  • Countrywhere the release comes from.
  • Currencywhat it is priced in — usually the faster way to find what moves your instrument.
  • Impacthow much it is expected to move things. Filtering to high impact alone is the common setup.
  • Sessionwhich trading session it falls in.

There is a search box for a named release, and a date range for the window. Most traders set the filters once and leave them.

How to use it

  1. Filter to your currency and to high impactthat is usually two or three events a week rather than two hundred.
  2. Check it before the session, not duringthe value of a scheduled release is that it is scheduled. Finding out at the moment it prints is the same as not knowing.
  3. Read it back afterwardsa day that went wrong at 8:30 and a day that went wrong because of you are different problems, and the calendar is what tells them apart.
