Connecting an account
Every way to get an account into Alltra, and what each one asks of you.
3 min read
Open Trading accounts in the navbar and choose Link Account. What happens next depends on who holds your account, and the difference is worth knowing before you start.
Brokers that connect directly
- Tradovate — sign-in happens on Tradovate’s own page. Alltra never sees your password.
- TopstepX — the same — its own sign-in page, no password to us.
- Rithmic — the exception. Rithmic has no sign-in page to redirect to, so you type the username and password you use in R|Trader into our form, and pick a gateway. Those credentials are encrypted at rest.
Rithmic’s Test gateway is the one open today. Rithmic 01, 04 Colo and Paper Trading are listed and disabled — visible so you can see they are coming, not hidden so you wonder.
Prop firms connect through Tradovate
A prop firm does not hold your positions — its accounts clear through a broker, and every firm Alltra supports today clears through Tradovate. So when you pick your firm, the sign-in page that opens is Tradovate’s. That is correct, and the wizard says so before it sends you: looking for a password you never set at the firm is the confusion this avoids.
Supported firms: My Funded Futures, Apex Trader Funding, TakeProfitTrader, TradeDay, Tradeify, Funded Futures Family, Lucid Trading, Goat Funded Futures, BluSky Trading, Legends Trading and The Trading Pit. The account still belongs to the firm everywhere else in Alltra — only the sign-in is Tradovate’s.
Or add one by hand
Choose Custom. There is no sync and no sign-in — you name the account yourself and add trades to it manually. It is the right choice for a platform Alltra does not integrate with yet, and for tracking something that is not a brokerage account at all.
What an account you make yourself asks for
- Name — yours to choose, and worth making obvious — you will read it in a picker.
- Type — Live, Demo, Evaluation or Funded.
- Asset class — Futures, Equities, Forex or Crypto.
- Starting balance — what the account began with, so growth measures from the right place.
A connected account asks none of that. The one thing you choose is the environment — Demo or Live — on the sign-in step, because it decides which side of the broker you are sent to. Everything else arrives from the broker: it lists the accounts your login can see, with their names, types and currencies, and you pick which of them to bring in.
How many
As many as you trade. Multiple accounts is the normal case, not the advanced one — an evaluation, a funded account and something personal is a common set, and reading them side by side is the point.
