Hourly sync sweep

Enhancement

Every eligible account now syncs server-side on the hour, so a day's fills are in the tracker whether or not the app was open.

Reliability

  • Each run records its own outcome, so a missed sync is visible rather than silent
  • Retries are per-account — one broker timing out no longer holds up the rest
  • A reconnect picks up where the last successful run stopped, with no duplicate fills

How the server-side sync runs

A server-side sync in Alltra Tracker is run by background workers that queue one job per due account and run only one per account at a time, which keeps that account’s fills in order. The Trades table, the P&L calendar and the daily reports are all built from those same fills.

Automatic syncing in Alltra Tracker covers accounts you link through a broker or prop firm sign-in in the Trading accounts drawer. An account added by hand — with Custom, or under a firm with no automatic route — has no sync; its trades come from the Add Trade drawer or a CSV import.

Where sync status shows in Alltra Tracker

The account details panel in Alltra Tracker’s Trading accounts drawer shows whether scheduled syncing is reaching an account. Its Last Auto Sync row is the finish time of the newest successful scheduled sync, or an em dash before the first; manual presses, history backfills and reconciliation runs do not move it. How often scheduled syncs run depends on the platform and, on some, on how recently the account traded, so a time some hours old is not by itself a fault.

An Alltra Tracker account that needs re-authorising shows an amber Reconnect control on its row in place of Sync, and its Token Refreshed detail reads “Expired — reconnect required”. On an account whose row offers Sync, pressing it queues a sync ahead of the scheduler’s own passes, and a second press while one is running is refused. The troubleshooting guide for an account that stopped syncing takes the checks in order.

Why a resumed sync does not duplicate fills

Alltra Tracker refuses a duplicate fill in the database itself, not in the sync code. Where your broker supplies its own execution ids, a second copy of a fill on one account is structurally impossible, so a retried job or a re-read window adds nothing; where it does not, Alltra fingerprints each fill from the account, instrument, side, quantity, price and time. That matters because a duplicated fill would double a position and invent a trade.

Linking the broker again for a paused Alltra Tracker account — what Reconnect asks of you when the broker will not renew the session on its own — queues a catch-up read from an hour before that account’s last sync up to now, and the duplicate check absorbs any fill Alltra already holds.
